Patrick launched his career in 1996 as a junior actuary at Sobeco Ernst & Young, where he evaluated pension funds. He later honed his skills as a financial analyst at Hydro-Québec with a variety of financial studies on major investment projects and a number of financial products (including derivatives used in brokerage and hedging transactions), accompanied by the energy product brokerage portfolio management. He joined the management team of Desjardins Venture Capital in 2001, where he served as an advisor and analyst. His primary tasks involved operational and market risk modelling with state-of-the-art financial techniques.

Patrick cofounded Globevest Capital in 2002 with Miguel Mediavilla out of a desire to offer an effective risk-management based system of portfolio management. His vast experience with financial markets guided him in formulating optimal risk-return strategies and in acquiring new expertise in targeted asset-management sectors. He also develops specific risk-analysis tools for his clients through a rigorous and structured process.

As senior manager, Patrick handles the portfolios of his own clients and the firm, while overseeing those of representatives and managers. He remains constantly attuned to latest market developments and breaking global and domestic economic news. Such information is crucial in steering investment strategies in line with evolving economic situations.

In addition to monitoring investments in client portfolios, Patrick trades options for the firm's risk-management strategies. Along with his partner Miguel Mediavilla, he oversees Globevest Capital's development and positioning as a private management firm emphasizing risk management. He is also responsible for the development of financial risk management tools used with client portfolios.

Risk management is a matter of prime importance to Patrick. His clients appreciate his ability to discuss financial information and investment strategies in plain language and his readiness to answer questions.

Miguel launched his career at the Bank of Canada in 1996. His responsibilities included overseeing a derivatives portfolio worth over $3 billion, federal debt management and risk management. By monitoring and analyzing the Canadian bond market for the Bank's senior management team, Miguel developed expertise in these fields. This background serves him each day in his role of manager at Globevest Capital. He continued his career at Mouvement Desjardins, where from 1999 to 2003 he contributed to the development of its integrated risk management division. He also modelled a variety of risks and developed a method for allocating capital among different sectors as part Desjardins' preparation for new banking regulations.

By joining forces with Patrick, Miguel cofounded Globevest Capital in an effort to provide investors with sound, effective and accessible management, focused on balancing risk and return.

Like Patrick, Miguel manages the portfolios of his clients and those of the firm. As Vice President, he works with Patrick to monitor the firm's overall activities with respect to management strategies and development.

Miguel also oversees the formulation and planning of various computer applications used in portfolio and risk management and company operations.

As a manager, Miguel places great importance on his helping his clients understand their portfolios and answering their questions clearly.

Steve worked for several years in property assessment as part of his education. He acquired experience in finance and economics, building solid communications skills over the years.

Steve also developed a strong interest in securities during his studies in financial analysis at UQÀM. In 2000, he took an opportunity to pursue his education while working as an investment adviser at BMO Nesbitt Burns. While there, he completed courses in securities, ethics and financial planning. He then worked for four years building a base of clients, managing their portfolios and dispensing personal financial planning services.

Out of his desire to provide outstanding client service, Steve joined Globevest Capital in January 2004. Since coming on board, he has completed his courses in investment management techniques, portfolio management methods, derivatives and option trading and earned the title of Canadian Investment Manager Specialized in Option Trading. He also participates in the development of strategies involving stocks, options and bonds, ensuring an optimal portfolio tailored to the needs of each client. His priority is investor satisfaction. With an excellent ability to making complex ideas simple, he takes the time needed to set up a financial strategy enabling you to meet your goals.

A member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants since 1982, Linda worked for Coopers & Lybrand before serving at AXA from 1986 to 1994. Appointed Vice President of AXA in 1990, she was in charge of financial management and supervising the work of her portfolio managers. Linda entered the telecom industry in 1994 at Télésystème Ltd., where she was appointed Vice President, Finance and Administration of Microcell Telecommunications (FIDO). She actively oversaw implementation of its business perspective and generation of its first $870 million in funding on the North American market. Linda was then appointed Vice President, Organizational Development and Strategic Planning and next made VP, Network Affairs Development.

In 1996, Linda created Gestion financière privée LP and left the corporate environment to work in securities, with the goal of formulating a business proposal for private financial management services aimed at high net-worth individuals. As Vice President, Personal Finance, her expertise and experience in corporate financial management has made her an excellent intermediary and coordinator of a range of financial services and specialties.

Having analyzed a variety of portfolio management styles, Linda offers clients a choice of outstanding discretionary portfolio managers intent on meeting investment and performance needs and target for her private clients.

Linda started a business relationship with Globevest Capital in 2010, by including our firm in her list of managers and introducing the Globevest strategy to all of his clients. This relationship has evolved into a partnership between Globevest Capital and Linda's firm, Gestion financière privée LP, aimed at expanding Globevest's institutional and private client base, while responding to the service needs of her clients.
